Due to low enrollment, the June 2008 basic workshop series has been cancelled. Stay tuned to this website for
information on future basic workshop series. Spring 2009 is a likely time for the next series.
Meanwhile, anyone interested in the Master Naturalist program is welcome to join us for any of our

Oxley Nature Center
10:00 am
We are pleased to announce the following presentation to be made at our October meeting.
The Unseen World of Lichens
These humble and often overlooked organisms have a fascinating life story and play a very important
role in many ecosystems. Some have a unique beauty. The lichens tenacity in the most inhospitable environments
correctly suggests that they are distinctly different and unique life forms. Please note that we will
meet at
Oxley Nature Center.

Following the presentation northeast chapter members will remain to discuss future directions for the
chapter, a shared dish lunch and an after lunch lichen walk.
Please feel free to bring others who may be interested in the Master Naturalist program. For more
